Take a look at IO, AFCI, ALSC, CATP, COMS, CYMI, ESST, EYE, PMTC, MENT, IFMX, GSLI, SYBS, ISSI, LSI, SBLU, SSTI, INVX etc..in the techs.

and

VLO, GLM, GOU in energy area.

Long term buy and hold was not a great strategy for 2000, since some stocks may not come back at all. Now there are lot of attractive plays. It is better to set realistic expectations and get out after making some profits, unless the rate cuts upcoming are many and we go back to a steady bull market as the 90s. Anything is possible! No matter what, if you lose more than 30 % in anything, it is better to cut your losses and get out and not put too much in the same stock. Hence it is important to keep an eye on the techs on a weekly basis, even if you have a long term view!
