Whether it is or not, is not the focus of the post. I learned the concept, I liked it, I adapted it. The origin of the concept was not explored. One thing I do know is that I've read over 50 books on finance/market/trading and many strategies I've read are just variations of a common theme with just new names. One calls one thing a hook, a platform, a spike, its just another name for a similar concept. My favorite books are Murphy's Technical Analysis of Financial Markets and Edwards and Magee Technical Analysis of Stock Trends... any other books are basically variations of those concepts.
