I'd presume INSP's acquisition of the leading voice recognition company (whatever it was) will differentiate their offerings in an important way and could be a re-saleable service that a carrier like Vodafone could use. Don't forget that Lucent and Nortel are supposed to be attempting to re-sell INSP's services to their infrastructure customers. Nortel is being particularly ambitious in competing for wireless contracts, with a stated goal of procuring two such contracts in each major market worldwide. Also, there is an article in today's WSJ about Virgin Mobile expanding into the Asian market aggressively, which would, of course, be of benefit to INSP. I agree, Arun would have known about Vodafone's decision to go with Vivendi in the European market. I hope that Russ was aware of this development when he chose to sell GNET rather than expect that Vodafone would use INSP exclusively.

INSP has referenced British Telecom within at least one press release....

But it looks as if INSP is not involved with BT's wireless internet service which is referred to as "Genie"...

Maybe INSP is somehow involved but could not find any specific reference...
