Don, As the old song goes,
"I'm a high straight in plain view,
Side-bettin' so I don't lose,
A fresh-deckin' new deal."

It is great the way the companies change their entire approach depending upon stock price. They love to buy high
and sell low when they can use shareholder money. But,
let's face it, if we as shareholders vote to pay them based upon short term stock price appreciation, we can't expect sleazy people to act in any way that is different than their own self interest. We can't be "shocked" to find gambling in this casino when we let our money be manipulated by the usual suspects. Wow, did I get enough cross-media references in this note to turn McLuhan over in his grave? <g>
