CKFR's stated goal is 4.6 sigma (1 error out of 1,000 transactions) which seems very practical. If I pay 200 bills per year I'll forgive CKFR for a mistake once in 5 years.

The one additional effort I like is CKFR's stated goal to drive quality into their upstream and downstream partners. This would mean they are working with the portals, the banks, the billers and the payees to decrease the error rate.

I can't wait for Spectrum to feel the pressure to introduce early, before the bugs are out, and give their customers a 3.8 sigma experience ( 1 error out of 100 transactions). Two screw-ups a year would drive their customers and the Spectrum banks back to CKFR.

IMHO,
