Collins was known for driving drunk in Charlotte for a long time.. He had had numerous stops for it, off the record. (I know some biz execs in the area and it really is an old boys club)

The day he announced he was leaving the panthers, well that night he got pulled over and instead of the normal "You drive on home safely, mr collins" they threw him in the county jail and locked him up overnight. HO HO HO!

I am glad that he seems to have controlled his drinking, because the potential he had to hurt others was extremely high.

I followed him closely in college and there was no evidence that any of that kind of stuff was happening then. Something, whether it money and instant fame, happened in Carolina to trigger his bad behavior. It would be very difficult for him to fall off the wagon in NY without it being noticed. So far, so good.
