Scumbria,

No kidding. The reason I bought the Duron box was because the 1GHz Athlon box was making me deaf.

I have been looking into this as well, and you may want to look into a quieter power supply, quieter air intake fan, and quieter CPU fan. All parts are readily replaceable. I am currently researching which ones are any good.

Your use of the HIGH POWERED/SUPER HEAT DISSIPATING AMD products goes against your stance about preserving natural resources.

If you were truly concerned, you would buy a PC with equivalent capability and lower power dissipation.

And that wouldn't be an AMD product.

The stock AMD fans have a pulsating drone to them. Try another fan.
