GZ is merely under the delusion he is a therapist. I think there is a word for that.

And I believe you when you say you miss her. I cannot fathom it, but I know you, and I believe you.

I don't believe I could argue it is "nice" to say anything bad about anyone. It isn't nice. But sometimes I find it useful. So I agree with you- it is not nice. I know. And I've never tried to be nice on SI (as you know)- I've seen no point. It is mostly fallow ground. Although the occasional flowers bloom- and we probably all see the weeds and flowers differently.

I actually like the idea of billboards in the cemetery- but that's me. You've no idea how much that appeals to me. Both the humor and the truth of it. I like the idea of all one's life summed up by people- those fer and agin' you- and written out there over your tomb. But then- not being a religious person, I think accounts in this life are only settled by memory after you are dead- and so it is important to balance out the collective memory if you feel it is out of whack. If it makes you feel any better I would have nothing but nice things to say about you. I know you weren't worrying, but I thought I would say that anyway.

Edit:And as I said after bashing the weeping and wailing about Princess Di and Kennedy- I would never show up at a 3d funeral and trash the deceased, no matter how much fun that would be. But this internet stuff is apparently much more "real" to some people than others. Which is weird.

And I want to say publicly that I knew Edwarda, and miss her, and to say to all those who knew her only slightly -- yes, Edwarda was very naughty, that is true -- but she was an extraordinary person with many wonderful qualities

thank you E

yes Edwarda was human, touchingly so, was not afraid to show that side of herself here on SI

and yes she was far from perfect. who after all wants perfect? boring as hell

she was a solid stock analyst. I think of her every time I see CSCO [swore it was overvalued and she was right]

what I remember most was her sense of fun and joy even when life wasn't treating her so well

and her devilment, zest for life

thanks for the post E
