They are ready to leave QCOM to SpinCo. Harvey White had done the same thing last time.

QCOM's insiders selling was the heaviest when, from summer of 1999 to the beginning of 2000, the stock had its steepest climb. (See chart below)

My experience with insiders' trades has been that executives/insiders of quality companies frequently sell when they expect good earnings or positive events to happen, whereas the reverse is true with the sleazy outfits.

On the whole, insiders' sells carry far less weight that the buys. You really can't blame these folks if they wish to diversify their assets - like you and I - as there are so many nice bargains out there.
