The Globalstar campus in San Jose is at the Lockheed Martin WDL campus. It's a hold over from when WDL was part of Loral, and then Loral sold it to Lockheed in April of 1996 (i.e. when that G* campus was being planned, that campus was part of Loral.).

Though, that doesn't mean the rumor is true. Lot's of crazy stories circulate by people who don't know the facts. It happens in every big company.

Globalstar says sees no layoffs

NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Satellite telephone provider Globalstar Telecommunications Ltd. (NASDAQ:GSTRF) said on Tuesday it expected no layoffs in connection with its plan to conserve cash for its operations.

Globalstar Chief Executive Bernard Schwartz told analysts in a conference call that the company also did not expect disruptions in service or customer support.

The company announced earlier Tuesday that it suspended payment on its debt principal and interest indefinitely, so it can save money to fund operations.

Shares of Globalstar were off 29/32, or 46 percent, at $1 on Nasdaq, with volume of 7.4 million shares. chicago.equities.newsroom@reuters.com))
