Thanks for trying. The MSFT piece on the port is very interesting. I had problems with a mouse connected to this port but also had the same problems when it was not connected to the USB, so am not sure that the USB ever worked correctly. Would the fact that I can't use the add hardware feature with nothing connected to USB rule a defective USB out? The last time I was this frustrated, (about three months ago) I went out and bought this new machine. Guess my next step will be with the Micron techies. -Don
