I was born in 49. We had the advantage and pleasure of growing up in much simpler times. While I actually lived in Chicago, the area had forests, a swamp and a farm adjacent to the Beverly Country Club. With the exception of four families on our block, including mine, everyone was Catholic. Ten kids next door, eleven across the street. In Chicago, everyone would identify their point of origin by reference to their parish. St. Thomas Moore, as opposed to Ashburn. The Sun Times once ran a picture of all the kids on our block as we had the highest density of children in the city for a non apartment dwelling block. I live out in the burbs now and I don't get into that part of the city anymore.

Damn, now that we have shared our common backgrounds, I am going to have to go easy on your picks. :)
