Don't worry, John, I've often thought the same thing. <g>

As a matter of fact, a big earthquake was predicted for our area in December of 1990. About 10 days prior to the "big" event, a small one occurred nearby.
The Big One thankfully failed to occur, so the "experts" all said the reason was the little one relieved the pressure.
