Question for the thread: since BK is now a very real possibility, why is this stock still holding at $1? Why hasn't it sunk to near-zero?

Globalstar R.I.P. . . . I have been out of G* for some time now, having jumped ship at the $ 6 level (at a huge loss). This stock has been a curse for me. I rented a G* phone last summer for a trip to Alaska, and was very impressed with how well it worked. It really is a technological marvel. Unfortunately, the critics have been proven to be right. It was just too expensive a system to build, and the cost to the user was too high for a mass market. Maybe someone will make money off of the remains, but it won't be the current shareholders. I guess the lesson to be learned is that a great product is not necessarily a guarantee of success. In any case, this message board has been an example of the best that the Internet has to offer - always an intelligent and useful discussion. Bit by bit, other message boards are being taken over by spamers, and people with a grudge. It is time to pick up the pieces and try to recover. Best wishes to all.
