One factor I think is telling is that the Pentagon has a contract with Iridium, not Globalstar

It might be telling, but what exactly is it telling?

Exactly! Theyre the same guys paying 2000 for toilet seats. The GSTRF system has 3 advatages
1)Groundbased to keep complex technology on ground where it can be fixed and upgraded(maybee Iridium non land nature is why Pentagon likes it)
2)Its satelites have twice the life span and considerqably more capacity. IE GSTRF is able to have lower cost per minute.
3)Iridium never worked so well, ask anyone who had one. GSTRF works beautifully.
4)GSTRF is more scalable and provides higher DATA rates do to its use of CDMA
5)Iridium phones are much bigger and clumsier.

Cobalt The IRIDidiots are wrong.

<I know that the die-hard Globalstar investors say that Globalstar is superior - but the die-hard Iridium investors say that Iridium is superior. >

Just FWIW this is absolutely 100% untrue... the "tech" people here on SI weather they have invested in G* or not [none that I've seen would ever have invested in Iridium technology] believe G* technology far superior.

As to a government contract.... common, is this Coby I'm talking to??? Government contract as DD?? -g-
