Intel is starting a quiet period, beginning 1 month before the release of earnings.

This is a cop out, with the company using FD as an excuse. Management is doing its shareholders a major disservice.

Given that management is using an unusually broad range for its projections, more and better information would help both shareholders and the stock price. Instead we see less and worse.

Of the 15% sequentially down forecast for Q1 01 my guess is about 7% is from seasonal factor (q1 worse
tha q4),
they are predicting about equal slowdown due to current economic conditions. Capex increase should
be good for the semiconductor sector.
