We live in a less than a Perfect world...
But it sure beats the alternative..
When we all get judged whether by our families, or by our religious pursuits it will all be taken into consideration..
I personally want my kids to say I was a good father..my wife to say I was a good husband and others to say I didn't go out of my way to hurt anyone..

You ought to read A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe.
There is a whole aspect of the novel devoted to
the Stoic philosophy and how a person must be
true to his or her own character.

Try it as an unabridged book on tape. David Ogden
Stiers reads it and does a good job.
