DJN: Intel Earnings -6: Flash Memory Unit Ships Record > Intel's Architecture group's fourth quarter revenue fall to $6.85 billion from $7.04 billion a year earlier. Within the segment, the company reported that chipset unit shipments were below third quarter levels, while microprocessor unit shipments set a record. Motherboard unit shipments were also lower than the third quarter. For the fourth quarter, Intel's Wireless Communications and Computing Group reported that flash memory unit shipments set a record. Within the company's Network Communications Group, unit shipments of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet connections were lower than the third quarter. Unit shipments of network processing components, which include embedded Pentium III processors, network processors and I/O processors, set a record. Fourth quarter unit shipments of microcontrollers were lower than the third quarter levels. In Intel's Communications Products Group, unit shipments of switches were flat with the third quarter, while unit shipments of computer telephony boards were lower than the third quarter.
