Kriens said that he believes Juniper has a 12-month technology lead on its competitors, which typically include companies like Avici Systems (AVCI), Extreme Networks (EXTR) and Redback Networks (RBAK).

Seems to me Scott's ".....there will only be 2 horses that win in the end of this market" comment would preclude the above-mentioned as serious competitors??????

Really ??? What did I miss??? Where do these guys get this garbage? Scares me to think people read and then trade on this crap..... it happens way too often now and to be honest I'm getting tired of the misinformation - both positive and negative for all companies.

Let's see. The word 'networks' appears after the names Juniper, Redback and Extreme. I guess Rex figured that means they all do the same thing. I'm surprised that word 'systems' in Avici's name didn't throw the author for a big loop. <gg> What the hell, why didn't Rex toss in Brocade and Palm? They're all within driving distance of Sunnyvale if you can fight the traffic.

I guess Rex Crum (author of that Upside piece) and I listened to two different conference calls. Kriens would have been laughed off the air if he had said that.
