Well, over the past few months, DDR SDRAM has been increasing in priority. It used to be POR (Per OEM Request) item, set vaguely in 02H1, but now it's a certainty in 02Q1. I do not currently disagree with your statement, but I reserve the right to do so in six months to a year from now.

Otellini seemed pretty positive on Rambus as their high end solution. Reading between the lines, it didn't seem to me that DDR was that much of a priority. I came away thinking that they thought Rambus would be competitive.

I am not sure Otellini is an objective observer here. Rambus is what Intel has for sale now, and DDR is something that may not be here for 1 year, so it doesn't make sense for Otellini to talk up DDR now. Besides, AMD just blew 1 quarter of the lead, so the pressure to get DDR has been lessened a bit.
