HTH Re : Yes, all the things you listed were expected (although your eps forecast is wrong) not only by me but by others including the butt head ANALysts."

I get the same numbers as Bill for Q1. Here's how :
Net Revenue : 7.4B (15% down from 8.7B)
Cost of sales -3.11B (58% GM)
Marketing+R&D -2.4B (Same as last Q)
Amort (Ignore)
---------------------------
Operating Income : 1.89B
Interest + Invest : 180 million
----------------------------
Income before taxes : 2.07B
Taxes (30.3%) -.63B
----------------------------
Net Income : 1.44B
Outstanding shares : 707 milliom

EPS : 20c
EPS : 16c (Incl Amort)

I am (pleasantly) surprised to not see a major selloff after hours (so far) based on the EPS numbers, although the only real surprise is that Intel will accelerate their cap ex spending.

Please feel free to correct the above numbers.

Maui

HTH,<<<It may break 30 later but not now IMO.>>>

If Intel does not break 30 tomorrow, why will it break 30 after tomorrow? I can't think of any reasons, unless:

1. GTW goes 100% Transmeta.
2. GVTucker recommends to his clients INTC as a value investment (sure indicator that glory days are over for Intel).
3. Andy (and I don't mean Grove) decides to retire <GGGGG>

What other bad news have not been factored or how can Intel management meet negative expectations?
