I agree that the rise in natural gas prices resulting in higher costs to the electric producer is certainly a factor in the crisis. But, by ignoring the dysfunctional market and the element of greed the two authors haven't analyzed or explained anything.

For example re: greed--

All I asked was that he explain why the price didn't go down if simple supply/demand was truly at work in that real life example (rather than greed) and he didn't or couldn't...I don't know.

I've posted other such examples where the price should have either gone down, but didn't or the market (night spot for example) suddenly got run up into the stratosphere for no apparent reason other than?...greed perhaps? But other thread posters have chosen to ignore them and focus on the most simplistic of explanations...just like many editorialists and news writers.
