Welcome to the LWP Ian,

I thought your post was a good jumping-off point on the topic of libertarians vs. anarchists.

Now I defy anyone to write a cruder, less-nuanced precis than the one here foisted.

I have no further nuance to add <g>, but would suggest that you post it on the Boxing Ring (the link is in our header), as there are some libertarians there who I'm sure would have much to add to the discussion.

It would seem, then, that anarchists and libertarians are trying to achieve very different ands by the same means, and that they differ less in their opinions on the appropriate role of government than in their opinions of human nature.

It is, of course, destined to remain a very abstract argument, since either a true anarchist state or a true libertarian state is about as likely to exist in reality as a perfect vacuum.
