I fear Ashcroft. An attorney general does not merely enforce the law. An AG interprets the law. An AG decides which laws to enforce. An AG advises the President on the appointment of District Attorneys. An AG makes decisions on which cases to appeal. I fear the discretion of Ashcroft which will be exercised in a manner detrimental to the rights of minorities, women and the environment.
