should not invade peoples' privacy over the Internet.

There was a flap a while back because the government tested a computer that was indeed able to snoop on all Internet traffic in real time. The test was successful and the data collected "was destroyed".

Yup, I'm sure now that they ran the quarter mile in that baby, they'll be packing it up in its box and putting it in that warehouse where they put the Ark of the Covenant in Indiana Jones!

The government will never stop surveilling its citizens with broad brush strokes until they are forced to. I can't imagine that you'd ever hear the government start an initiative to INCREASE personal rights and liberty. Governments just don't do this.

The only place where I agree with him is his belief that the government should not invade peoples' privacy over the Internet.

I was going to agree with you but then I recalled a number of cases where men have
persuaded children to meet them for "sex." And, I do not believe that the children understood
what might happen to them, in all instances. Or if they had an inkling, but no experience, they
still might not understand what was about to happen to them.
