Amy,

"With Intel's large capex, I doubt Intel will be capacity constrained next time around. This added-capacity is definitely a threat to AMD (if the majority of the money is spent in the core). I would not risk holding AMD on the next semiconductor uptick (in a capacity tight environment). "

When there is a turn-around, Intel will still be somewhat constrained. With the P4 being >2x larger than the P3, they will need a LOT of extra capacity to simply pump out the same number of chips.

In the next uptick, everyone should do well. Why would you be afraid of holding AMD during an uptick? It's the down tick that should worry everyone.

Amy,

Beautiful day up here. I took my morning run in sub-zero weather, with incredible views of the snow covered Rockies.
