I would support a national initiative that would guarantee anyone who is qualified a 4 year degree. I would encourage people to return to school after becoming to be disillusioned with blue color work. yes, but in order for those who will attend, to benefit from this, they need to be capable to take the higher education. while not opposed to the above, i would add that the availability of a good education should start at the "pre-school" level, along the lines of Montessori. what this does --regardless of socio-economic level the kids would come from-- is that at an early age they can see for THEMSELVES that they can do things... that they have value on their own account and also learn to interact with the various differences that each of the kids would bring to school. --in fact, the "difference" would be in our eyes, but NOT in theirs. for them THAT environment would be normal. this is where things really begin to change. i believe that it is amazing the difference that a kid who has been exposed to a Montessori environment at an early age, and those who have not. again, the emphasis is in the fact that it teaches them self-sufficiency, initiative and self-appreciation at an early age, in addition to the "learn to interact with others. this in turn prepares them so they can take advantage of the following steps in their education. unfortunately, such environment would stop at the school, since no one really has control of the environment of every child when s/he goes home... the parents do... and not all parents are exemplary members of the "group" we are all part of eh ? but the above would be a start. I would also encourage private industry to participate at all levels in a way that it would be beneficial to all concerned. i do not agree in the demonizing of corporations... corporations are made up of individuals... shareholders, management and labor. so if the corporations are "evil" so are those who are part of. no sense in taking antagonistic roles... i guess that re-education is needed big time. patience has got to go along with it as education takes generations to start paying dividend.... hard to convey that in this day of fast day-trading reward minded society... no ? oh wait, look my options are going the way i wanted them... got to go and take profits -gg- (actually if they move any higher against resistance, i may double up and sell some more... i am waiting --patience is an art -GG-) _________ as for the prison laws (due to the "jihad" on drugs)... it is idiotic we are shooting ourselves in the foot -- no actually in the b....
