This polling data (ABC News/Washington Post) issued today shows 51% of Americans oppose the tax cut, and 52% (the actual margin is 52-41) want Bush to compromise with the Dems on his major initiatives (and believe that he does not have a mandate). They like his handling of the transition so far, but they do not favor his policies and the more they find ot about Ashcroft, the less they like him.
