Ah yes... and how on earth would we take into account the degradation of our food chain here in the U.S... and how about the need for both parents working? Where is the hedonic price adjustment for that loss of life quality?

LOL You gotta stay away from those sugary cereals! Cereal is one of those things that defines inflation. Why is that? Are they trying to make up for everything else that is going down? In the town I shop in there are four grocery chains and a Walmart that sells food. The competition is cut throat. My food bills are getting cheaper and cheaper....yet cereal is outrageous and its almost never on sale.....but OTOH if you are a coupon cutter (my husband is and I'm always in too much of a hurry) you can $1 off most major brands.
