Jon <"Everybody is reading the FT 3G Telecom special" -- When I returned some defective florescent light electronic ballasts to a lighting supply place this morning, the guy at the loading gate was actually NOT sitting there reading a copy of The Financial Times >

That depends on the definition of 'is'. Used in the context given, 'is' would refer to the period of time since the FT 3G Blue Light Special came out and until the writer wrote. In this correct definition of 'is', one would presume that everyone wouldn't be reading the FT from the publishing time until now ['now', in this instance, meaning 'then', being the time the writer wrote].

They would get their copy, 'read' it, which was referring only to the FT3G Special, so you'd need to check which page they did read to ensure it wasn't just the sports section or the movies, then put it down and do something else, such as loitering with intent at a loading gate, waiting for somebody to bring in defective fluorescent lights.

I hope the 21st century doesn't get too bogged down in defective lights, definitions of 'is', and the FT.

I'm hoping for Major Paradigm Shift to happen.

I think It will.

Expect BIG 3G sales in 2001 and booming CDMA sales too.
