As much as I respect Arch as a technician, I'm not sure if I would characterize this environment as gloomy. I am looking right now at a chart of institutional equity managers' sentiment. Since 1994, the bullish percent has ranged between 41% and 51%. What is the current reading? 59% !!!! On SI, I see virtually nobody who is expecting a big down move from here.

Crawford was wrong in August 1999 and again in the last week of 2000.

Will he be right this time?

The articles at

gold-eagle.com

gold-eagle.com and

gold-eagle.com

would seem to contradict Crawford's bullish views.
