yep...it actually scares me that living with a huge, and fast expanding current account deficit for several years has led to this complacency about it. i know Greenspud IS worrying about it, and plenty.

he has every reason to...the Asian crisis has shown what should be self-evident: a capital account surplus (the counter-balance to the current account deficit)can be reversed in the blink of an eye....
a current account deficit takes quite some time to be reversed.

and one thing's for sure: it can't keep growing at the current pace. and it WILL become a problem.
