8.30pm--CMOS warns--Q1 rev dn 40% seq...but the noteworty paragraph is as follows.."The magnitude of the slowdown now appears greater than we expected. We now believe we may be seeing a cyclical downturn in the industry and we believe a recovery may not occur until "late calandar 2001 or 2002".."

I gather than CMOS is big in Asia and perhaps this is why they think the recovery will be delayed. This is in sharp contrast to NVLS which guesstimated that Q1 bookings would be dn 30-35%, Q2 might be flat and then maybe + in Q3----As you know many of the analysts have been warning that the recovery will be delayed and that this rally in seq's is premature--CMOS at least seems to agree with them----wonder what ASYT is going to say (Taiwan focus)?--I'm out of all seq's as of this morning.
