The one item I got from the IBM report, which bodes well for SUNW, was IBM's very strong business for servers in Europe. Sunw has always done quite well in Europe, but I expect even better numbers this quarter from this region.

The other area I will be interested in seeing are the storage sales results. SUNW does not generally break this out but if it is the start of something big, I suspect management will want to hi-light this growing revenue stream and will segment these revenues from their other totals. Perhaps their storage hardware sales will be consolidated with their "other" storage related services (ie customer service contract revenue).

IBM was up to $103 in after hours when I checked almost an 11% increase from the close. SUNW added another point in after hours to around $33.5. An equivalent move for SUNW on good earnings and a good forward look might add another $3 points to the price. Will we see $35-$38 tomorrow for SUNW?

QS-

If the UltraSparc III was out in all of SUNW's servers, IBM likely would have had terrible earnings.
