Most Americans aren't even aware that there are still troops in Bosnia. Hell, most Americans arent aware of where Bosnia IS. And no, I found no value at all to those missions. What have we gained in Bosnia? An unstable round-robin presidency government, divided amongst ethnicities. Once we leave, they'll start killing each other again. Kosovo? Do you still think that is such a noble mission? After the Serbs in turn got ethnically cleansed out of Kosovo by the Albanians, headed by the terrorist thugs of the KLA? NATO forces are in the middle and targets of both Serbs and Albanians. When we leave, they'll start killing each other again. If you remember Barry, I was for Kosovo, just not in Clinton's manner of doing it. In hindsight, I was wrong. We shouldn't have become involved because there was no national interest, there was no risk of general Eastern Meditterannean war.

It's YOUR assertion that Somalia was unexpected, badly planned, and unjustified. It was quite expected, expected and announced well ahead of time. In time for CNN news crews to take up camp outside Mogadishu and wait for the landing parties. Badly planned? Every account to my recollection, from both sides of the political spectrum, deemed it a success. No American casualties and food was getting to the interior. Mission accomplished. Unjustified? What then justifies Bosnia or Kosovo? What's the difference? I was labeled a racist on the Kosovo thread by your buddies for making a similar statement. Was Somalia unjustified because its not our concern if blacks are killing each other? You have a very poor, if not warped, memory. Unless you're just pulling this crap out your ass.

Was it OK for Clinton to start the unjustified mission of disarming warring tribal factions in Mogadishu and trying to apprehend Somali warlords? In short, nation building? THAT is what got US servicemen killed, and THAT is what Bush refused to do when he signed on to sending our troops over there. Get over it.

the same goes for you and the balkans, right? as long as your blood isn't threatened, you love it, don't you? forgive me if i'm mistaken, but i took that to be the tone of your posts over on the kosovo thread. something about 'the heroic kla' comes to mind...
