*** Wacky Power *** Hey! How about Wacky Power to save California from their current current problems? Thanks for those urls. caiso.com Which discusses 'no touch' days or something odd, in an attempt to maintain power supplies.

It is amusing to see California, the citadel of capitalism, falling prey to 20th century central planning of pricing. You'd think Californians of all people would know that the Communist central planning ideas don't work.

Let the suppliers charge anything they like. Overnight, people would start switching things off that they don't need. At $5 a kilowatt hour, demand would drop!! People would have cold showers [or no showers]. They would turn down their thermostats. They'd wear a sweater or ski jacket.

Simple really.

But Globalstar went nearly bust because they went with the central planning system. So I suppose California will continue to blunder along in the dark. Stupid really, but that's life in the fast lane.
