it's not a PC company because the earth is always moving around its feet. it HAS to morph every so often and get on the next growth train. It's been VERY good at doing that but Buffet doesn't like companies that MUST do that to be successful, no matter HOW good they are at it. He also doesn't much like low cost manufactuers for the sake of it.

He wants things that will NEVER change, or change very slowly, and the PC business changes, in fact it's changing now. Its CHANGING so much that some people actually think PCs are DOOMED. Buffet doesn't like things that GO AWAY, even if that's only theoretical ( and it is). The fact that it MIGHT is bad enough.

Take a look at APple for a company that is very good at what it does, but every few years litterally blows up and starts the process over.

People actually wait for this to happen and pounce on it when it does to catch the INEVITABLE upswing as the faithful flock back to the latest products.

Bricks don't change, work boots don't change, wall board doesn't change, paint doesn't change, uniforms don't change, candy doesn't change, insurance doesn't change...
