Hehe, I hear ya. When I lived up north, I kept an old VW Bug around as a 2nd vehicle--just for winter driving. Looked like sh*t, but those things were like tanks in the snow--I can't ever remember getting stuck, and I lived on an aptly-named street called Snowdrift Lane.

Earlie, i think they're nutso too. i had one in South Africa, but i NEEDED it for my many trips to Namibia and Botswana, where paved roads are a luxury. i'd never even THINK about buying one of these monsters for use in an industrialized country.
