Mindless Morons like President Reagan(he is getting his due now),

Rarebird, would you explain what you mean by this? I'm hoping you're not referring to his Alzheimer's, which is a hell that nobody should have to live in.

You have very lucky children. Some people have a Bible open on their coffee table, we have a dictionary, but it's amazing how often it is mistaken by outsiders. Where is Peru? Who said, "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel?" What is the currency in Morocco? How much does a great Pyrenese weigh at birth? "Let's find out!" We hit the dictionary, bartlett's encyclopedia, Internet, roget's.

I'm glad that you haven't mellowed all that much. It seems we call our loss of passion maturity as if fire and conviction were immature. But I think Reagan's family is suffering as they continue loving the doddering shell who is gone but will not die.

I hate this Rarebird, but, <toungue firmly in cheek> Studies in test markets nationwide have shown a marked preference for, and perceived palatability of the same old Ylang in her New! Improved! Moderate packaging.* Alas I must limit my impulses for dispensing disparaging of remarks on easy targets where it undermines my credibility and thus the furtherance of a greater cause.

When I was fifteen I hitch hiked to the MardiGras. I'd freak if my daughter did that, today, in 2001, but it sure was an experience, living on the road, singing for coins for breakfast. Getting a tattoo on my. . . . . . . . way home. <g>
