Scott,

Ted: the analysts seem to like the AMD report, regardless of down sales:

*Robertson Stephens Upgrades AMD to BUY*

I think what they liked was Sander's bravado...he is one of the few CEOs who has not said the sky is falling this quarter. However, what worries me, is that in quarters past its that very same bravado that would p*ss them off.

In addition, in spite of all the press on the subject, I was blown away by how quickly and how deeply sales had slackened. To go from Q3's +84% YOY change to Q4's +21% YOY change is a pretty big dropoff. I don't understand how that happened.

Furthermore, the response to the stock today is a little scary. I understand that the decline in the stock price was overdone but its up almost 10 pts in a week on essentially not so great news. Go figure!
