Or, would you like to educate me about your small "l" as in libertarian philosophy and how all this was just, fitting, appropriate and right? Gosh, I didn't have anything that broad in mind at all. I know better than try to start any arguments over here. I was just pulling some leftie leg. I'll know better next time. The high moral ground I had in mind was in the ongoing feud between the lefties and righties on SI. I've seen some really harsh, downright vitriolic, things said about Janet Reno, for example. And I've seen some strong criticisms of the posters who are saying them--and extentions of that criticism beyond the posters to their ancestors, their cronies, and everyone who has ever posted on any thread they've ever posted on. My only point is that each "side" does exactly what it it accuses the other of while waving the banner of the high moral ground. Karen

I feel a good deal of sympathy for Reagan's condition, though I saw as much of the shit from his administration as anyone here, and a good deal more than most. I don't think any of his policies could really be described as his. The man learned his lines, hit his marks, and did his honest best for his producers and directors; what more can you expect from any actor? An honorable effort, even if it was for a cause that was in many parts less than honorable....
