I agree with you somewhat here. I am opposed to Government control of the means of production. I believe in free enterprise and the spirit of Entrepreneurship.

However, not everyone has the tools, means or intelligence to make it to the so called proverbial superficial "top" of American society by making a million dollars through their own innovation, determination and creativity. So, the question becomes, what is society to do with the hapless souls who cannot achieve? Should I just ignore them since my investments are up 15 fold since the early 80's and I can well afford to pay for around the clock security to protect my property while I assume the libertarian position of equal opportunity in the midst of massive economic displacement? Reagan was fond of telling the American Public that he was born in poverty and was able to make it on his own, so he mistakenly thought that every other poor person could do the same. But is that a true statement? I think not.

Just because I can achieve doesn't mean that everyone else can.
