Dave,

Nice call on ALLR. Very obvious move on someone's part.

Too obvious. Leads me to believe that it might have been someone who doesn't even know that it is illegal to trade on inside information or someone who is incredibly stupid. They even waited to buy on the same day as the announcement.

I try to only post real-time trades unless they serve an educational purpose ( stating how smart you are is not educational) and this trade pointed out how unusual options volume can be used to spot potential takeover deals. The actual number of scans that will result in a trade is a extremely small number after I apply my filtering criteria.
The number of times that a trade will result from a stock that I don't know is even smaller but the degree of options activity in ALLR reeked of insider trading.

There are a number of sites that monitor unusual options volume (McMillan,Schaeffer, Optionetics, etc.) and I knew that this would create additional demand for the stock and options even if there was no deal. I would have exited the next day regardless of what happened.

Regards,

Ken
