I can't understand how any politician can think he/she can "get away with" anything. Any sins can and will be used against you. Unless you pose no threat to anyone. This could explain why there are so many "offend no one", "go along get along" moderates.

I am not a partisan yellow dog Republican. Newt is a total ass hole with some good ideas. I advocated on SI at the time for him to resign his leadership roll ( though I don't think he should have resigned his seat ).
