Robert,

Could you recommend some good books that discuss options, options strategies, etc

I started trading options before there were any books on the subject so I have never read any of the novice books. I would think that you could get an adequate beginner education on options just from the information available via the web. First you should read and understand the booklet given to you when you open an options account "Characteristics and Risks of Understanding Options" then read and understand the following:

listed in order that they should be read

1888options.com
cboe.com click on Options Institute Learning Center (Highly recommended)
e-analytics.com

Download the options toolbox (contains the information from booklet "Charactistics and Risks of Understanding Options" plus much more) at
cboe.com

After you understand these
Options as a Strategic Investment- McMillan

Next:
optionsanalysis.com

Only after you have mastered the above
Option Volatility and Pricing- Natenberg
Option Market Making- Baird

If you try to start from the bottom up it will not work and you will probably never want to think of options again.

Regards,

Ken
