oh, i'm not tossing it. lumber is one of the things that have me convinced that the downturn will eventually get worse than now generally anticipated.

One of the things I find attractive about steel framing is that you can have larger open interior areas similar to a post-and-beam structure. So for me the comparison wouldn't be with stud wall construction, it would be with post-and-beam. Which ain't cheap.
