Typically, they issue new stock to employees, it save money on "registration" and offering fees (g). their reason is: " We believe this buyback is a particularly attractive alternative in which to invest a portion of the company's available cash while maintaining a very strong position to fund future growth and investment opportunities.'' I for one do not agree with such reasoning. That means that they cannot find opportunities within the business that have ROI better than buying the stock.
