The usual approach of our socialist society - Let the Cal utilities go broke and take them over, punish those in the energy sector who actually are benefitting because of the inept regulation of those calling them greedy.

The groundwork was done 20 years ago by preventing new power plants to be built. Then the population doubled...
California has no one to blame but themself.

Blame it on the power companies if you want to...or just turn off your lights.

Amy, I work in Oregon, but I do have coworkers working on the same project in Santa Clara and Folsom. I don't know how they're affected, though. If I were in California these days, I sure wouldn't be taking the elevator.

By the way, Californians really don't get it. They complain of price gouging without realizing that had they built a few more power plants in the past decade, they wouldn't be subject to price gouging in the first place. Community and environmental activists protest the building of new generators, then blame Bigtime Corporations when their very efforts created the huge imbalance between supply and demand.

Someone will have to pay for this imbalance. Guess who it's going to be?
