Why bother shorting anything while the Fed is easing?

Even though I couldn't have a lower opinion of garbage like GUMM, I think it's kind of a waste of time to short ANYTHING while the Fed pumps more money back into the system.

It makes more sense to put your money to work where you'll get a lot more bang for your buck.

My strategy going forward (assuming the Fed plays along) is to take intermediate profits out of tech as it lifts (because risk remains high there and the fundamentals won't provide much follow-through for a while), and plow more money into cyclicals and high-quality, high-yielding names. I already began building a position in Ford for example.

If we get another speculative frenzy there will be lots of opportunities to re-short crap like GUMM and VLNC.

It just ain't worth it right now.
