That's true. But, first, he got caught fair and square so he didn't have many choices. Second, he is a minister, whether he acts like one or not, and if he didn't take it on the chin he would have real long-term problems down the road.

Wonder how long this self-imposed exile will last. A day? three days? He can't keep his mouth shut any longer than that.

BTW, I wonder whether the child support he paid was paid under a court order. If not, and I doubt there was any court order, haven't heard of one, I don't think the IRS accepts it as child support (anybody a tax lawyer here). In that case, would it be income to the Mom, in which case she should be reporting it (bet she didn't!), or would it be a gift, in which case it would exceed the $10,000 per year per donor/donee limit, and he should have been filing gift tax returns.

Wonder whether someone more attuned to the great right wing conspiracy should raise these issues with the IRS? Can't you get some money for turning in somebody who is cheating on their taxes?

No sweat off his back. Jackson will wind up being admired by his constituency, not rebuked.

The only problem I have with your comment is that a man does not cheat on his wife, period..... Jackson isn't "taking this like a man" because a real man wouldn't do such a thing to his wife of 39 years and five children in the first place..... he was in the White House counseling Clinton under the pretense of offering "healing and spiritual guidance" regarding Monica Lewinsky when all the while that female adulterous home wrecker was in the White House with him and was four months pregnant with his child..... I find his behavior incredible and despicable, hers too.....

He had an agreement drawn up that the woman signed, pledging her to silence in return for money. Very manly.

I respect him for taking this like a man.

If your point is that Jackson is supporting his child, yes that is what a man does.

However, he's doing it with money begged from people and given for other purposes. That is what a con man does.
